I am very pleased to see and hear this 'salaam' which is originally a noha written by my great grandfather Meer Asad Ali Mateen of Delhi, the greatest noha writer of the 19th century. A collection of his nohas printed in 1886 is available to view in the India collection at the British library in London. The book was adopted by my husband - also a descendant of Meer Mateen- three years ago, and has been fully restored.
He is shaheed- martyred by Sunnis in Bhrat,India.
