  • wow..this song are two of arnel's song contribution...

  • These songs are amazing. I just wish they hadn't made them all so long. Don't get me wrong, it doesn't take away from them at all. But it will prevent them from becoming big on the radio. If some of them were shorter, more of the world could feel Journey's greatness. But amazing job, Arnel! You have done the band justice!

  • @JRNYman Re-recording the Journey Perry years ex. the Revelation was the wise moved for Journey. There was no market for Steve Perry's voice. Look at now, the greatest hits 2 is totally flopped pan cake by Journey and Sony standard sales. The greatest hits 2 blew and only debuted #93 and gone after a week. I would be honest, no one gave a damn shit Journey Perry from rock fans point of view. They are a lot better now. They recieve some national awards and international mini recognition.

  • @JRNYman really? Arnel Pineda has a classic rock "VOCAL DEXTERITY". You have to improve your constructive description of Arnel Pineda. Eclipse is not pop record and also an album out of the comfort zone of Journey's pop years with Perry like open arms. Album sales but it doesn't mean they are good. But pop records usually sells. JourneyAOR only became classic because the 1973 Journey fans fought for it to belong in that sense. AOR and classic rock are two different genre but now interrelated.

  • @MrFundash - This album wasn't very popular with Journey fans. The want Faithfully, After All These Years type stuff ... damn good record though.

    PART 3:

Sure, Journey should continue to play the classics live with each and every new lead singer that comes along. However, rerecording them as a set was an unconscionable atrocity!

  • @atcroccas

    PART 2:

Bastardizing the Classics was done largely for 2 reasons: to showcase Arnel as the excellent Perry impersonator that he is, and to capitalize on sales, because each disc in a multi-disc set counts towards those coveted gold/platinum designations. Thus, you only need to sell a half-million 2-disc sets for it to count as a million seller.

    PART 1:

We ALL love Steve Perry doing The Classics! But the idea of remaking the Greatest Hits with ANY other vocalist (not just Arnel, lest ye mistake me as a racist) is an abomination. It’s a desecration of the sanctity and purity of the originals and an outright slap-in-the face insult to Steve. Apparently, Neal, Jon and Ross are ignorant or indifferent to the fact that it’s a violation of their own original creations, as well.

  • For Pinky-

    I wonder...

  • Brilliant track - so deep and spiritual and amazing guitar finish. Rock on Journey !!!

    Better than ever
