I can't believe you said $1,200 when written price indicated is $1,299, $1,500 when price is $1,599 and $1,900 dollars when the price is $1,999!! Rounding these off to nearest higher number 99.99% more accurate :-)

If the goal is to save money, it is a good deal. 80-160GB is a lot of Hard drive space and you buy memory online to add more.

Michael,
Some folks find it helpful, you do not and that's ok.
This video explains how to navigate through the Apple store and see what's available from the new and refurbished section.
Not everyone knows someone in school who can get a student discount plus I explain how to get a copy of Microsoft office from Ebay.
My client was able to get a Macbook ordered and now understands the difference between a Macbook, Macbook Pro and Macbook Air.

Hey, we all can feel "strongly" about something :)
There are folks out there who are over the age of 25 who are not in school and don't know someone in school so it's still not always easy to connect with a "student" to get the Mac discount.
My sister was a student when I bought my 2nd iPod in 2005 so I saved about $60 by having her order it.
