  • You need to be careful because skunks can carry rabies for years without showing symptoms. One scratch is all it takes. Aside from that, nice video!

  • Thanks glad you liked it!!

I don't think that is true though. I think rabies if a fast killer and once infected symptoms usually appear within only a few weeks. If a suspected animal is quarantined and observed for 30 days with no signs, they are usually clear if the disease.

Even though rabies is a deadly disease it is %100 curable if you treat it immediately.

Skunks get a bad rap when it comes to rabies. In the last 20-30 years no one in the US has die from rabies from a skunk.

  • Only 1-2 people die from rabies in the US every year,100 people from hunting accidents, 50,000 from second hand smoke,50 people from bee stings. Bats and dogs are the main killer when it comes to humans in the US.

  • This video made me laugh, especially at :34. Got a bit fuzzy there, didn't ya? LOL! Sorry. One time, walking to work, thought I saw my neighbor's kitty (also black and white). Went to pet it, noticed the size of its tail. SKUNNNNK!! Twin sis (on crutches) never moved so fast. Neither did I. A thousand miracles we didn't get sprayed! Thanks, 5/5 stars and an add to my Funnies playlist. =]

  • Thanks, i'm glad you liked the video.

  • I hope that skunk is descented. Otherwise, you'd have a problem! LOL Such an adorable video; five stars for the striped baby skunk!

  • Nope it can spray. It was rescued when it was only a few days old and its eyes were still closed. It was released back into the wild in the same area where is was found, stink and all :) .

Thanks, i'm glad you liked the video.

  • that skunk is cute

  • oh. my god. that is way too cute!!!!

  • Cute!!

  • Aww, he really likes you! That's for sure! Sorry you couldn't keep him. Hopefully soon people will learn to understand that skunks are just as equal of animals as every other one.

  • we've got a little skunk in our backyard. i don't know if he's an orphan, but he's pretty small and i haven't seen his momma. i do, however, see squished skunks on the roads all the time. anywho, he's super friendly and likes playing with my dogs when i let them out. i don't know where he sleeps or lives... maybe under my rosemary bushes... but i feed him all the time. I doubt he'll wander off until it's mating time. he seems to love it here.

  • I LOVE this video!!

  • @Mischiff Yeah, more people die from bee stings every year in the US,about 50 from bees ,1-2 from rabies

  • @JustAnimals bee stings?!?! wtf f*** bees

  • oh good luck with that better buy lots of air freshener if that skunk sprays everywhere in the yard

  • Skunks cannot carry rabies for years, nor are they all born with it. That's an old wives tale. Rabies is indeed a fast killer, I think I read it takes 10 days at most.

I am experienced with skunks, both wild and domestic. I've never been sprayed, and I've never seen one with obvious signs of rabies.

Cute little skunk in the video, by the way, and he or she definitely has developed a bond with you.
