This video shows some beautiful tea that I bought in Shanghai. The yellow flower in the glass grows from the tea bulb and is the reason I bought the tea.

When I got home, the yellow flower didn't grow because they had switched the tea. When I showed this video to my wife, she said they yelled not to say their real name when I asked them. It turns out that these three people were salepersons for the company and posed as tourists to get me to buy their tea. All three lied to me for about 1.5 hours to make the sale.

  • The scam was that I overpaid for the tea. They tea I sampled was of the highest quality, but they gave me different tea in a wrapped package so I couldn't check it until I gave it to my brother-in-law as a gift.

They negotiated the price for me and I over-paid for the visit and gift by paying about $120. They were slick and each of the guys paid about US$60 in cash for having the tea - but would get it back later. I didn't do the math as to how much I was paying until later. Buyer beware.
