  • @360Nomad I think it started in Philly, I think they just used those engines to pick up the G. 300 and the needed cars, bring them down to philly, then set up the FULL train there.

  • Why would a train with 4 coaches need 2 locomotives?

  • no it's not. Maglev sucks. What we have now it very traditional and it works.

  • very nice the Georgia 300 I have rode on that very railcar before

  • No E60s left. They were retired in 2003.

  • Maybe He can get PA to get ahead of schedule. The first Mag Lev system is to start in Pittsburgh PA then branch out. to the rest of the US.

  • Nice catch John - as always a well done video.

  • smart14u2, I agree... Europe and Japan, and now even China are decades ahead of us in Train Technology... Amtrak's Acela was partly built by Europe, and recently Congress planned to start high speed train service between New York and Washington, DC, service faster than Acela, and guess who's going to build it... France... Because we've lost our edge in even train making... California recently tried to build High Speed rail network and automobile lobby had the plan shot down in legislature...

  • Maybe President Obama will see the justification to upgrade Amtrak from this rinky-dink train to a super bullet or mag lev train like other countries~

  • maybe just in case the Obama Whistle Stop Tour was going where there is no place for electric engies to operate. Are the E60's still around? Maybe those could have been used or an old AEM-7
