WALTER ISAACSON: More drilling would be one way, as part of a whole plan, you have to do everything plan. But does that mean domestic drilling, even shale oil, that sort of thing?

JOHN MCCAIN: I think it means everything, Walter. But I think the best way, and I think we found this in the past, is all of the above. Find out what works and what doesn't work. Find out what the best technology is. [...] Let a thousand flowers bloom here. Oil shale? That's fine with me. But what's the fastest way and the least expensive way? And by the way, clean coal technology has to be part of this. [...]

ISAACSON: And nuclear?

MCCAIN: Yeah.

Kemo, Big Mac has gone beyond his sell-by date. He's not stupid, you have to have some sense when you want to survive in the rat's nest of Washington politics, but it would be a stretch to say that he's still fresh. He's ill, he's aching, his mental acuity is gone.

If Obama could not beat him on wits alone he wouldn't deserve to be on the ticket.

Clean coal is an illusion [and a radio-active one at that]. The sun shines bright, it's free and lasts forever. You'd think that'd be a no-brainer.

honestly, and i'm not for big mac, how you represent yourself in an off the cuff town hall meeting means nothing in hostile negotiations. You've been watching too much cnn, msnbc, fox news, post-speech coverage. You choose a candidate on ideologies and past experiences, not on how he delivers a speech. What's at the heart of this is video is that "clean" is to "coal" as "dirty" is to "purity"... and where do you suppose we will hide the nuclear waste of 30 more powerplants, johnny boy? Arizona?

Really, it is. He has trouble producing coherent sentences. He trips over his own talking points, he contradicts himself in word and action. This man's got nothing.

He has to debate Obama? He can't even deliver a speech to a friendly audience halfway decent. Do you see him in a hostile negociation with a man of the class of Vladimir Putin? What do you think is going to happen? Not a chance.

He needs to retire and live off of his fortune. The vast majority of Americans will never be that lucky.
