Just a quick test to see if the Super Nintendo still functioned after relocating the cartridge slot 90 degrees. I love Top Gear's intro music!

This will soon be part of a completely portable Super Nintendo system, much like a GameBoy but bigger and better. In addition to a beautiful 5" LCD screen, it will also have internal li-poly batteries, AV out, a headphone jack, and a charging jack.

  • What the? Did Ben mislabel the negative spot on the SNES?

  • @gamefreak11 In his book? Yes. But the thing you need to know is that the "negative" connection, also known as ground, can be found on many places of the circuit board and not just one little spot.

  • how did you chop of the top peice of the circuit board just above the screen and still have it work. is it hard to reconnect the section you chopped off?

  • I replaced the original backlight with LEDs to conserve power, and therefore did not need the top of the circuit board since it just had parts for the backlight.

  • Nice work! May I ask what type of signal that screen is getting? I'm guessing it would be direct, digital display information from the system, am I correct?

  • No, it's just composite video.

  • Why would it be illegal? That's one of the stupidest things I have ever heard . . .

  • Hey sir.I have an idea. part of one.ok so you have your screen, and it's 3/4'' thick or something, the back top can be a battery. and the back bottom half, can be a Wireless Controller. so it's like 1 1/4'' or something like that. so it can be touch screen and wireless controller attached to the back that you can, pop the controller out and play it!!!! You could make millions. seriously. Just giving you an idea that would make millions. You can use it if you want. or you don't have to use it.
