Polyphoner mikrotonaler Controller
(Eigenkonstruktion Stuttgart 2011)

Das Gerät wurde entwickelt um Glissandi und mikrotonale Intervalle intuitiv und genau erzeugen zu können -- und dabei, im Gegensatz zu etwa Ondes Martenot oder Theremin, nicht beschränkt auf Einstimmigkeit sondern mehrstimmig.

Die Positionen der Finger werden bei Berührung mit der Oberfläche von Kameras erfasst. Diese Positionskoordinaten können über weitere Software in Klang umgerechnet werden.

Dieses Fingerboard arbeitet mit einer hohen Auflösung. Die Fläche, die in der Größe ungefähr einer Klaviertastatur entspricht kann beliebig skaliert werden. Praktisch ist eine Skalierung in der die Abstände den Abständen auf einer konventionellen Klaviertastatur entsprechen (dann lässt sich z.B. eine Oktave mit der gleichen Handhaltung spielen wie auf einem realen Klavier). Aber ebenso möglich ist eine feiner aufgelöste Skalierung. Wenn z.B. die ganze Breite des Controller nur zwei Oktaven entsprechen, können einzelne Töne bis auf einen Cent genau kontrolliert werden und damit mikrotonale Phänomene äußerst genau erzeugt werden.

- Optische Anzeige der Finger
- Anzeige der Frequenzen
- Anzeige der Midinoten (auf 0,01 = 1 Cent)
- Lautstärke analog zur Größe der aufliegenden Fingerfläche
- Tonhöhe analog zum x-Wert
- Klangfarbenänderung analog zum y-Wert möglich

Das Gerät eignet sich als Hilfsmittel während der kompositorischen Arbeit und als Konzertinstrument.

Please don't use the name "Continuum" for your instrument; please come up with a different name.

I changed the name of my instrument. I'm sorry for using your name, although my project is not commercial at all.

By the way, congratulations for your continuum fingerboard, it seems to be a great instrument, and I can imagine that there are far more possible applications than it is normally used for. Unfortunately it is ab bit expensive for me, so I built my own. It works quite different and probably not as good as yours.
