I thought that it should have been called but being a Michigan fan and watching them all year he's done this over and over. I've even seen other kickers do it and get away with it. That being said I still think that it should have been called. He was hitting the ball good all night so I think he would have nailed it even push 5 yards back.
this was a pac12 ref crew. in 2010 the Cal kicker did the same EXACT thing vs Oregon Ducks and got called for it. the 1st kick was good. naturally he missed from 5 yds back. It should have been called a pentalty.

He did move, but he was in the backfield, so it would qualify as a motion, but he moved toward the line of scrimmage so it should be a false start.
