Five Things We Can't Wait to See Explained in Vampire Diaries Season 3

What's up, fang girls and boys? I'm Jager Weatherby with Wetpaint Entertainment. We have no doubt that Vampire Diaries Season 3 will be as full of drama as it is delicious supernatural stars — but with so much going on next season, our brains are on overload! Sadly, since we don't have a crystal ball into which we can see the future of Mystic Falls, we'll just have to wait until fall to get the answers we crave. In the meantime, here are the top five things we can't wait to see explained in the upcoming season!

Number five: Will Alaric play dad to Elena and Jeremy? Sure, maybe who's gonna sign Jeremy's permission slips isn't the most pressing issue on TVD... but in the wake of Jenna's death, someone's gotta show these kids the way, right? They've been kind of lost in the parent department since, well, forever... and a little guidance from someone level-headed like Alaric may be just what they need.

Number four: Where in the world are Stefan and Klaus, and just what kinda craziness is the ultimate baddie plotting in that cute little head of his? Paul Wesley insists that Stefan is NOT BFFs with Klaus, but we're not so sure. According to various spoilers, the duo are becoming closer by the minute as they travel 'round the country ripping peeps apart. Also, we're kind of excited to find out what the rest of the Originals (aka Klaus' family) look like. Surely he got those devilish good looks from somewhere!

Number three: Will Caroline and Tyler create a vampire-werewolf super couple? We know Ty's supposedly bringing some new chick to Elena's 18th b-day bash in the TVD season premiere, but word is she won't be stealing his heart away from Car anytime soon.

And Number two: What is up with Jeremy's dead exes coming back to haunt him? Jer's former flames Anna and Vicki popped up at the tail-end of Season 2, and nobody knows why. But TVD producer Kevin Williamson says by the end of October, we'll all be in the know about his supernatural sweethearts' real motives... which we can only assume won't be so sweet. Can't wait!

And, finally, the number one thing we can't wait to see explained next season can be summed up in two words — Damon and Elena. With Elena's boyfriend MIA and Damon left to, uh, comfort her (or something), we have a sneaking suspicion this gorgeous duo will finally hook up.
