This clip is from the DALLAS' Season 8 Cliffhanger "Swan Song" (airdate: May 17, 1985)

The morning after reconciling with his beloved ex-wife Pam, Bobby Ewing is struck head on by a car attempting to kill Pam. While Pam tends to Bobby and his injuries, the driver of the car, killed by the impact, is revealed to be Katherine Wentworth, Pam's half-sister, who was obsessed with Bobby.

The same morning, Jack Ewing visits his sister Jamie and begins to reconcile with his sister when her husband Cliff Barnes storms in, demanding that Jack leave. Their argument is interrupted by a radio report of Bobby's accident

Meanwhile at the hospital, Pam has joined the rest of the Ewings at Bobby's bedside. He briefly wakes up to declare his love for Pam, Jenna, his family and children. After imploring them to be a family, Bobby closes his eyes and passes away, devastating the Ewings

  • Which part of Bobby's heroic act to save Pam got him the blood on his head and face that we see?

  • ...all part of Pam's season-long "dream"...

  • don't doctors usually rush in when a patient flatlines?? :S

  • The first time I saw this touching scene it made me cry! :(

  • Patrick is simply incredible. I remember the first time I saw this scene, I was just blown away.

  • Donna Reed was the better Miss Ellie. I liked her portrayal of Miss Ellie.I don't think Barbara Bel Geddes quite fit into Miss Ellie's character.Barbara wasn't the actress that Donna was. Donna Reed was the TRUE Miss Ellie.
