Guggenhiem DESIGN IT: SHELTER Submission.
The BOGbox is a studio featuring storage and pinup space, overhangs for sun and rain protection, an elevated bed, and desk. Walls, roof, and floor are fashioned from sinker cypress (decay and water resistant wood dredged from swamp floors), while ramps are concrete. The studio is elevated to allowing flooding and plant growth, windows mimic the horizon line of the marsh, and a sliding door provides sun and roof access.
The BOGbox is suggested for lowland areas in Lousiana.
