When Cultures Conflict
In a globalized world, cultural heterogeneity can often spark conflicts.
1) Is there a set of values around which the world's cultures converge?
2) If not, what kind of mechanisms must be put in place to facilitate global understanding?
3) What role do notions of "tolerance" and "respect" play in that regard?
Samuel P. Huntington, Chairman, Harvard Academy for International and Area Studies, USA
Hans Küng, President, Global Ethic Foundation, Germany
Ghassan Salamé, Professor of International Relations, Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris, France
Chaired by
Lord Carey of Clifton, Former Archbishop of Canterbury, United Kingdom; Member of the Foundation Board of the World Economic Forum

  • Huntington RULES

  • Huntington has done a good job in founding the grounds of XXI century wars. When I say good I refer to the effectiveness of his racist, imperial and destructive ideas about any other civilizations except western... cultures are monolithic, cannot speak each other: so the will (must) destroy each other... MANIFEST DESTINY?, sounds like that?... I recommend Said talking about this miserable character

  • RIP Hantington
