  • Remeber Moses? He too was placed in a basket and sent down river to avoid infanticide.

According to T.W. Doane, Jabbar, Fiske, Cox, and Bonwick,

    It's astrology.

  • My question is how does a reed basket refer to astrology?

  • So frustated following a star in spirals ,Magi asked nearest King. Matt 2v2-12. Magi: "Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews?" Herod the Great:"I have no new baby sons, What can you be thinking of? Wait! A thought has just been placed in my head, could this be The Christ? Advisors, do you know anything of The Christ?" Advisors: "Would that be Jesus Christ of Nazareth who was crucified under the rule of your son Herod Antipas, 34 years after you died?" Herod: "Yes, that very one",

  • Advisors:" Follow the road to Bethlehem, there you will find him, just round the bend, at '3 Christ was born here St.' in the stable of 'Time for a quickie? Inn'. Herod to Magi;"Did you hear that? Now when you find Christ, return at once & tell me where he is, that I may do something that vaguely fits with a random verse of Septuagint".So off they set, fortunately there were cats eyes to follow as the star mentioned on the plans was bust &they'd forgotten to note which constellation it was in.

  • Is that you burning in hell? How fitting.

Herod was an inudian not a Hasmonean. Hasmoneans were descended from Judas Maccabeus. Which is this "king". Herod had no Hasmonean descendants he killed his first son with Mariamme before he died. Therefore no Hasmoneans ascended to the throne of Judea.

  • Yashua said that His kingdom was NOT of this world. (Luke 18:36-37)

May the gift of truth light your way.

  • It goes something like this:

The King or Ruler = Night and the infants or children = stars.

The King (night) upon hearing that a new king will soon take over (day), orders all kids put to death (stars) in hopes of prolonging his reign. The new King (sun or day) is saved by his mother and grows to reign over the people.

  • I believe the text speaks to people who are already followers of the Jesus cult, not to the average Jew. Because of Saul/ Paul, the cult had already established itself as something quite outside of Judaism. Still it may have been useful to come up with some kingly lineage.

  • John, it sometimes appears that you're in a way making the same mistake as the religious. It's mythology, so you have to decipher what the allegory is actually pertaining to. Not argue was this plant a real person. No, it;s plant. and branches of reason and law, and creative thinking, etc The branches are explained in the Kabbalah. You must research this Kabbalah to get an idea of the trivium thought process, which is highly beneficial to any, or everyone that applies it.
