The single reached #10 in Italy, #11 in the Netherlands, #11 in South Africa, #17 in Germany.

Alain Tapp: born 1939, possibly in Hong Kong; became Paris drag queen Peki D'Oslo in late 50's; met Salvador Dali who paid for sex-change by Bourou in Morocco in 1963 (then a revolutionary and risky surgery, with uncertain cosmetic result). Now Amanda, she hung out with London's fashionable set, dating Bowie & Ferry; later went to Italy & became a Euro Top 10 disco-diva. Married in 1979, her husband (and his boyfriend) tragically died in a fire at their house in 2002.
She is a living treasure.

@krakenwave Well, I don't know how true are sex-change rumours, but Amanda's husband died in 2000, not 2002.
