The scene is the bleak Midwest plains. Five people enter a farmhouse in an attempt to solve a crime that one of them discovered the day before. While the three men search upstairs for evidence, the two women sit in the kitchen, talking, observing - and then realizing that they may have found the solution simply by piecing together certain "trifles." Adapted from the story by Susan Glaspell. A film by Martha Moran. 21 minutes, color.
