Formed in 1991 by songwriter Robert Roth, Mark Pickerel (former drummer in Screaming Trees) and Hiro Yamamoto (former bassist in Soundgarden), one would think that Truly was just a group composed of leftovers from the Seattle scene who tried to cash in before the balloon went up. Quite the contrary. Truly was an extremely solid band with tight musicianship and songwriting that rivaled any other Seattle band at the time. Their 1995 Sub Pop release "Fast Stories. . . From Kid Coma" is a near perfect masterpiece that, sadly, never got the recognition it deserved.
