I was at this game loved the Yankee fan base taking it over. I remember it was raining so the roof was closed, but it got real nice out, but some rule stated you cant open it mid game. It was an awesome game, Jorge triple followed by a Bernie HR, Kyle Farnsworth striking out the side while throwing 100 mph, then mo closing it out.

What was the occasion that 50 K people would turn out?

That place was packed every game from it opening day in 89 till the strike in 94. It was cool in it's day and it laid the foundation for the parks with the retractable roofs we see now but now. These days it's boring and tasteless; almost like a big toilet with a lid that opens :)

usually theres not tat many in the rogers centre but this is a huge crowd

WOW , even with a horrible team and a decline in the sport in T.O. they got over 40K at skydome.

Jays were the first team in MLB history to reach the 4 million attendance for a whole season at skydome. and btw, the bambino's first homerun was in a baseball diamond on a little island in toronto we call centre island.
