  • I thought that I would love this film for the cars (which I did) but, I found much more to love. This film captured all that was great about the 50s. It was a carefree time that I am too young to know of but which have heard about from my Mother. This film is awesome! You captured the mood of everyday people like none other I have seen. Thank you for sharing it. That was really great !

  • You are welcome. Glad that you enjoyed it.

  • According to my 80 year old Mother, "That is just the crazy way people acted back then."

  • music beautiful. who's composition is it?

  • Actually today was the first time I ever watched this video with the speakers on. I did not even know there was music. To answer your question, my sister hired a service to convert the 8mm tapes. I assume that they added the music.

  • Back then home movies (video) was a brand new technology, people felt that when a camera was running, and you could hear it whirring, that they had to do a little performing.

Video of all types is so ubiquitous nowdays, people hardly pay any attention to it.

  • I am just converting all my 8mm to DVD from the 1950s. So special to go back and see better times. Really like your home movies. Hope mine turn out as well!.

  • Wonderful video tribute. Really Great !!!

  • WOW! A year later and your film is doing very well. I knew it would gather steam. The older it gets, the more and more people are going to love this film!

It still brings a tear to my eyes.

  • @gmfive : So, I'm being ignorant ? Really ? Sounds like you are popping off before you know what you are talking about. Your average Conservative minded individual doesn't trot around with his ass showing, pierced & tattoo'd up from head to foot, dropping garbage on the ground and if you were to take a moment to actually watch the video, those in the video appeared very Conservative as well. What ? Many of your Leftist buds aren't billionaires ? GOP doesn't "own" this, pal.

  • @MrRJDB1969 No, you are just being ignorant. It's not the liberals that have descended this country into a quagmire and killed off entirely the prosperous middle class shown in this film- it's the GOP and their quest to save billionaires from the horror of paying taxes. Don't blame that one on the left- the GOP owns it 100%.

  • What ??? No piercings in their lips or eye lids ? No tattoos of Satan or demons on their arms, legs, & necks ? No butt cracks peeking out of their sagging, dirty trousers ? No extra huge, white t-shirts that drag on the ground, as they make yet another crack deal in front of an elementary school ?? No graffiti on the houses or security bars on the windows ? No trash on the ground ? My , how liberal minds , with rose colored glasses on, have "improved" America. Just being sarcastic .

  • @dodge09challenger : I agree. The other day, while driving down the freeway and eventually getting caught up in another traffic jam, I looked at all the cars around me and it suddenly dawned on me, I had the only American car on the road, in front, on the sides , & in back of me. Funny too, I was possibly the only American on the road that day too. This is no longer the "America" I grew up in and it pisses me off . I want my home back .

  • Better Times ! Hell, I'd go back there right now.

  • Your video is great quality. Thumbs up.

  • Nostalgia is a funny kind of thing, a helpless feeling of not being able to return to the past, You tube really makes it hard nowadays , with easy access to old memories , 20 years ago it was your memory or old photo's. To much of the past is not good, one forgets to live for today and make new memories.
