U need to highlight it first
By left clicking it and dragging it over the clip u want . Then u press In the highlighted clip and drag it over

@96aussie yes that's functionality that is built in to Quicktime X on Snow Leopard.

I can't find how you got the two yellow buttons to appear above the clip that let you fine tune the transition lenght. All I see when I double click the transition box is a set duration box. I can't get the yellow tabs to appear.

Hi Dan, did you enable the advanced settings in iMovie preferences? I think I covered that in part 1 of this video.

it should not be too hard to copy the transitions in the system files so that you're not gonna need the themes...
i'll reasearch that later on, if i get it to work, i'll keep you updated
