Gord Hotchkiss, CEO, Enquiro, talks with Byron Gordon, SEO-PR, about search industry and players such as Microsoft and Yahoo who are struggling to compete with Google's search dominance. Gord says Bing is a good step in the right direction for Microsoft. But Gord questions Microsoft's advertising it as "more" than it actually is. Gord says Bing is not a drastically different search experience in order to get users to begin using it as a regular alternative to Google. Gord says any new search engine has to raise the bar so high so as to prompt users not to consider going back to Google. Gord says the industry is still at the very early stages of search and Twitter is part of the real-time search development. Gord says what interests him most about Twitter is its new way of communicating. Gord also recommends Wolfram Alpha as an alternative to the traditional search engines. Wolfram has translated unstructured data into a mathematical equation.
