The Roland Microcube is a fun little amp that I use regularly for recording or to take to a friend's. Here I reviewed the main channels with the help of my trusty Telecaster with Fralin Blues Special pickups...

  • Could you possibly achieve these tones with a cube 15, 20, or 30x?

  • I have not tried those, so I cannot comment. Sorry.

  • What's better, this Roland Micro Cube or the Vox DA5??

  • Frankly, they're both great. It's whichever you prefer at that stage. Good news: you can't go wrong with either one.

  • I have a question if you would not mind me asking. I have a Roland microcube, and a couple of people have been telling me that it will not handle certain pedals, for example, metal stomp boxes. I have not tried one out yet on my Microcube, but I see no reason why it would not sound descent. Sure, it is not going to have the same crispy tones I would get from hooking a death metal pedal up to a stack amp, but do you think it would at least work for recording purposes? Thanks.

  • Yes, i think it would work for recording. Most of my tunes on mojotwanger com are recorded using this microcube.

  • Dude. Thanks for the great review. I have been searching for demos of the acoustic and JC clean settings. And you nailed it!

    Awesome playing, and bluesy soloing!

And rock rhythms and everything else!

Not bad for a country boy. I mean it with utmost respect.

    SOLD!

I'm getting one for Christmas... To: Me

    From: Me.

    Thanks

  • Now...can I simple plug headphones into this thing so I can play at night while my girlfriend(s) are asleep? I've been looking for that feature for a long time now.

  • Don't know if you're familiar with this amp: Bugera bc15 combo. But if you are, what would you think? The Micro Cube or that one? Thanks for the nice review by the way.

  • I have the micro cube and it's fucking sick. I like it, I have an ibanez rg and it sounds really good. The cleans and the distortion are awesome. I think it has more potential with better pickups in it. If your starting out and on a budget, buy this amp you won't be disappointed especially if your into rock/metal.

  • you have got a nice tone, your guitar is nice but i thinks its a little flamer/ ugly

  • Wat's the setting for the JC Clean, on the Eric Clapton song? Sounds diff in my amp... :-)

  • I have a roland microcube and can assure you it's cool as f**k. So much louder and more flexible than your average practice amp.

  • is that the old style bridge with 1 saddle for each 2 strings?how do you intonate that thing?

  • Undoubtedly the Tele's pick-ups and Mojo's skills are both superb. Unmissable as well are the audio quality of the video and the amp's tonal clarity. On these subjects (audio and tone) this is just about the best I have heard here from reviews featuring this amp.

  • @SONGSTICKS was looking for a comment like yours..right on...hahaai wont post
