Out there in the battlefield, one of the few pleasure a soldier can get is a good meal, and MREs don't quite get it right... but still, after a hard day of labor, you really can't complain about the quality of the food.

Beats salt pork, hard crackers, and scorched barley and chicory pretending to be coffee.

when you are in the feild with nothing but mres to eat i promise you you will think its the best thing ever. its easy potable and a hot meal when you can get one. I will take all of these so call top chefs down range with me and see if their oponion changes

They should've made them eat Country Captain Chicken. Or was it Chicken a la King that I hated. I know I hated the hot dog one.
Spaghetti with meat sauce was great though, as was chicken tetrazzini and jambalaya. Those were awesome! It was hit and miss when I was in the field, but I loved some of them, and could usually trade out what I didn't like.
