Our intrepid pilot takes a perfectly nice flying gyrocopter and hacks 2 inches from each blade then flies it again. Once he's satisfied that his gyrocopter is still flying fine, he then proceeds to drop his power source from 14.8V to 11.1V just to make sure that it's still flying fine. The gyrocopter is a Profile Kellet Kit from Whirlybird Avaiation.

  • Thanks Mike,

Yep the AB blades worked great! Very happy with the results! Thanks for the idea of the putting the Airmail kellet on the profile....a perfect match!

    Joe

  • Hi Joe, That gyro looks very familiar to me for some reason. Great Job flying. I loved the precision blade modification. Measure it with a micrometer, mark it with a crayon, and cut it with a chainsaw! I've always said that Mike Smith's "Aerobalsa" blades are the "Proverbial excriment"!! The Flying Balsa head looks like it performed flawlessly. Awsome Job Joe.
