My favourite scene from Good Will Hunting and pertinent to the principles of liberty in its condemnation of killing people abroad who have done no harm to you personally. Taken to it's logical conclusion this belief should lead anybody who holds it to a pure libertarian position; though most won't, of course.

  • he's reading and acting? WTF...

  • It's too bad that EVERYONE doesn't get this!

  • That scene went right over my head when the movie came out. It meant nothing to me. Now,watching it again after all these years,it just slapped me in the face.

    Great video.

  • It's crazy that this is just as relevant, if not more so, today.

  • I expected the "normal" patriotic, pro-one country, pro-war, pro-racism, pro- national arrogance perspectives. When i say normal i mean fucked up by any culture. This movie still projects this in some ways but this scene is a quantum leap from the "norms". It's ridiculous watching movies that project racism, short sided go my country perspective's, wars and suffering. I would never pledge allegiance to any one country or serve it, a starving child in America is the same in Africa.

    WoW!

  • @AntiSpeciesistWorld ... I understand what your trying to say. I have used your thought process many times. Its my opinion that people fail to see the temporary status of their vessel (body's). And as a result they take things for granted feeling powerful or intelligent. But this is our poison as a species...we are weak but meaningful.

  • Holy crap.....couldn't be more correct... WOW

  • I know this is a little off topic but do you ever notice how humans act so much and persist within such a deep illusion? Like take for example the man in the chair, he acts like he's in a particular position, part of a particular service, exc. yet in truth he's a human. Were all just biological creatures, but the illusion becomes so real.

We also class society and politicians, police, engineers, exc. are seen as different breeds almost and yet it's all a big illusion but it appears so real.

  • @nintendo007 Gas was 19C/gallon in my day (1962 - LA)
