As a forensic psychologist (not psychiatrist as Dr Dietz is) I can completely agree with what Dr Dietz is saying. The news are bastards

Your school shootings are mainly a combination of three things. Readily available automatic weapons (and other equipment such as grenades). Poor mental health care system and shitty healthcare in general. Glorification of murderers in the news.

i get angry at media outlets as well, and i think they are partially responsible for this type of thing, but to say they're "as guilty" is just stupid

This conversation needs to be brought to the mainstream. We need real change, not another ineffectual gun ban that infringes upon the 2nd amendment, and harms lawful citizens.

The difference being that those people killed for the enjoyment and were happy to continue without detection. Where as these public shootings appear to be done for notoriety, which the media gives them. John Lennon's killer (I don't want to name him) said he did it to get Lennon's fame.

I watch this today and still think the same thing. CNN, MSNBC, FOX, you are all guilty of these recent shootings!
