  • I know this is a very belated comment, but I couldn't help it. Did they quit teaching reading in school? It was required when I was in. At top it says, in REALLY big letters, ".....mine drainage". Then the very first comment asks, "..... is this a pipe leak ....." That would have embarrassed me if I had posted it. If you're wise enough to click "YouTube", it SHOULDN'T be much of a stretch to type a couple words into Google. Or at LEAST read the title. Helpful info up there sometimes.

  • I live in Tioga county and used to be involved with a non-profit environmental group that focused a lot on AMD. I got to see numerous discharge locations during our water testing projects and none of them compare to that thing! I was impressed with the one I found that only bubbled up 18 inches or so!

  • I remember seeing that! There was one outside of Yatesville like that a few years ago.

  • This is an acid mine drainage discharge in the area of the Bast Colliery in Big Mine Run, PA just outside of Ashland. Discharge was shooting up about 13 feet into the air. Occurred after a large rain event. It does not flow normally. Very interesting thing to see.

  • So is this a pipe leak or what?
