It's a very interesting idea, DonQ.

The people are only necessary to work in the malls. Their computers can do all the shopping !

I think it's the suggestion of a child-like innocence, combined with the perverse malevolence failure. A bit like Power Rangers, but without THE Power Rangers.

My favorite line in the series is still "Do animals shop?" because it's so wacky, of course we shop. The question is; who/what were "the people"? Computers, online accounts and e-stores? The answer to that is an episode, yes? But that would lead to the politicians captured, actually being their websites, & twitter accounts. So maybe not.
