AAAA.231319Z MAY 2008 Now the school I went to during the 1940`s did not use the cane for corporal punishment Mr Douce the Head master used `the pump` ie Plimsoll n pl. rubber-soled shoes with canvas uppers..I have seen one or two come back to class with tears They never bullied again; The only time I talked in class and answered the teacher back !! Guess what as I stood outside the Head masters study Up came a giant of a man `What have you been doing ?` `Speaking in class sir !` Go home and write 50 times I MUST NOT TALK IN CLASS !! Now my mum said write it yourself then off to bed !!
