  • where did the name come for hemi under glass

  • i believe the name is a play on a restaurant dish called "pheasant under glass".the hemi engine in this car is behind the drive and is visible through the back windshield directly under the glass. :)

  • How did this guy see where he was going when the front end was in the air?

  • i honestly have no idea

  • where's the sound it's better with sound.

  • the sound is not real good so you have to put the volume bar at the bottom of the video screen to the max.sorry

  • what you said was true as far as it goes... the car was built in the days before good tires, when everybody was trying all kinds of things to get better traction... The guys that built this car were building a serious drag car... but couldn't keep the front end down... so they made more money on the exhibition tour than they might have, actually racing.

  • @Bluewrench10 i read that they cut a section out of the firewall and put lexan in it

  • @Bluewrench10 the bottom of the car is plexiglass

  • what i would'nt do to drive that thing

  • @skateusa i actually think it is because the hemi in the car is under the glass of the rear window, but you could be right too. :)

  • @Bluewrench10 I saw the car at a car show its got a window at the drivers feet in the floor pan

  • @Bluewrench10 Just behind what used to be the firewall at the floor is cut out and Bob Riggle looked through the cut out floorand could see the track. I have seen the car up close many times in person growing up. First time was in 1970. Car is awsome.

  • @skateusa there is a window under it via hemi UNDER GLASS

  • @Bluewrench10 there's a hole in the firewall between the driver's feets. You can see it when the car launch

  • @Bluewrench10 There was a window in the firewall under the dash

  • @Bluewrench10 there are holes cut in the floor of the car so he can see, and hand-brakes on the rear brakes so that he can slow one wheel or the other to steer the car.
