29/12/07 - 6024 'King Edward I' crawls through Bromsgrove hauling 1Z68 1615 Gloucester - Bescot TMD leg of 'The Elgar 150 Explorer'. Bromsgrove being right at the bottom of the infamous Lickey Incline, EWS 67027 had to really rev up to push the rake Mk. I and Pullman coaches. It was very dark, the lines are colour correction in Pinnacle Studio, but if they weren't there, you wouldn't see anything.....

  • Did anyone get any shots of this further up the bank?

  • No I don't think so, it was pitch black.

  • Ah the wonders of Pinnacle! Nice one mate. What studio do you have? I have Studio 11 and i haven't worked out how to get to screens yet. i got my last shot at Cheltenham, so i guess i didn't miss that much as it didn't pass through the station at speed.

  • Cheers mate! I to use Pinnacle Studio Ultimate 11. Yes, you didn't miss much, Bromsgrove was poorly lit and it was freezing! It actually went right past my house, I live 5 min bike ride from the railway between Cheltenham & Bromsgrove, but it was pitch blaack and then I definetely would not see a thing. So I went on a twenty minute drive to a dark bromsgrove. More to hear the glorious sound than anything. I'll send you a private message on how to get the two pics.

  • Well done for braving the weather and darkness! I had hoped to be there, but with the bad forecast, the time of day, and a 200 mile round trip from Cambridge it looked like I was onto a loser.

Has anyone got shots on the incline itself, or was it just impossible?

  • Hi,

Cheers mate! I don't know if someone did get a shot - as you said yourself it would of been way too dark. Bromsgrove was poorly lit and it was freezing!!

  • Excellent camera work.

  • Excellent camera work.

  • That's some good work mate, i know how poorly lit Bromsgrove is from when 7760 banked 4936 Kinlet Hall a few years ago.

Fail to see the point in going up the Lickey in the dark however.
