Testing out the Nikon D90 video. This is compressed down to flv format, but shows that the camera will produce very reasonable results.
This was a Honey bee moving around a group of Snow Drops in the grounds of Hanbury Church in Worcestershire, filling it's Pollen sacs. All the close-up footage was hand-held, so a little wobbly!
The audio is not from the camera but recorded on an Edirol R-09 HR, a fantastic piece of kit. The bird singing away in the background of the clip is a Great Tit.

It's 91mb in-size, but the zip file compresses it to 66mb
All the sound you can hear is from the Edirol. I was using the built-in microphone, so Omni-Directional, and the (I think it's actually a Great Tit) was in the woods very close-by. In use, the Edirol is very clean, and the only noise you may be hearing is that of a road nearby, but I did have the Mic on Automatic Gain Control, but in other recordings without this on,the sound is really amazing!
Don't forget too,that the recording has been down-sampled from the original 48000. wav to 64 k/b mp3.

I'm interested in buying an Edirol myself. Great video en great sound. But it's looks that I hear some background noise. Was there a background noise or is it because of the Edirol? And is there also a Blue tit singing?
Thanks anyway.

No, it's just the one camera, with the footage edited so that the wide clipsare shot on a 70-200mm zoom, then the close-up footage is filmed on a 50mm and extension tubes. There are three different bees in the footage.

Do you have 2 cameras going at once?
