In 2007 I received a stamped postcard from Romania six months after the postage.

That happened to me!!.. I sent my Chinese New year card in Dec 2006 and arrived in Canada Sep 2007..apparently there was a strike in the CND postal office ... but 2 of my birthday cards(original and duplicate) have not arrived until now.. I sent them in Jan 2008........hopefully next year same time? lol..that would be perfect!!

That is hysterical. I wonder what the world's record is for untimely mail? Maybe that viginia Post Office was trying to beat the unspoken record and usurp bragging rights?
Pity the poor fellow co-wroker (probably the new guy) who did not know that your piece of mail was SPECIFICALLY set aside so that their station could attain national standing in slowness.
They probably gave him the worst mailroute availabe, with all the biting dogs.

We heard about one piece of mail on the news, that took about 28 years. It was a postcard that had slipped behind some sort of machinary, and was only found when the machine was being replaced.
