During the fuel price protest of 2000, the UK's refineries were blockaded. Some tanker drivers also joined the protest and refused to drive their fuel lorries.
To keep their Lymington to Yarmouth ferry service running, Wightlink arranged to refuel the Caedmon, Cenwulf & Cenred mid-Solent from the fuel tanker Whitmariner on 12th September 2000.
Filmed from the Caedmon which bunkered first, then a passing view of Cenwulf bunkering as Caedmon returns to Lymington.

This was a special arrangement. The Wight class are refueled by lorry same as the C class were normally refueled.
