1 John 5:7 still stands and none of the translators wanted to remove it and no publisher has removed it.???
I BELIEVE the WHOLE WORD of GOD {KJV}. If one verse is WRONG... then to me we could NOT trust the next verse to it..or the next verse..or the next ..or the next etc etc etc .
The New Age versions ARE from OLDER manuscripts than KJV..but they don't tell you that they were corrupted Older manuscripts..Alexandrian of Eygpt with Apocrypha mixed in. Takes out Jesus' blood, among other things.

@prairiemark My view have changed over the years. I studied theology at an Anabaptist Bible College. I served as sunday school teacher and board member on"nondenominational" protestant churches. Went through three church splits over doctrine. Eventually I had to face the question: Were the Christian practice and doctrines of the first and second century Church more like the Protestants I worshiped with, or like the Catholics? No doubt the 1st and 2nd Century Church was more Catholic.

@October31st1517 This is a real problem for modern evangelicals. How do I sort out all the competing beliefs all claimed to have been based on each persons private interpretation of the Bible...or a particular sects interpretation of the Bible. I would say that there is a body of historic Christian belief that goes back to the first century.
Sola Scriptura leads to endless conflict between interpretations.

@prairiemark What is your final authority on all spiritual matters?

@October31st1517 The Bible is authoratative.....but we must look at how the earlier saints believed too. The creeds were written to counteract harmful teaching like Gnosticism,Arianism, Nestorianism. How the early church councils understood the Trinity, Communion is important. Otherwise each of us is trying to interpret the Bible privately without the benefit of the knowlege of past struggles. Just saying I believe the Bible and this is what it means to me doesnt work.

@prairiemark Then what do we go to for proper biblical interpretation?

The Spirit overshadowed Mary and she was found to be with child.
Where's the Father?

@march271989 Exactly. There is no mention of God the Father. Yet Jesus refers to His Father constantly? If the Holy Ghost is God, that must mean that they have the same nature yet distinct persons.
