Okay guys, real talk for real people! Ive been suppressing this issue for too long. But before I shared this with you I wanted to get my feet wet first. As you can tell Im very passionate about this. Please note that if you are currently dieting and its working for you then go for it. This video is in no way telling you what to do or suggesting that your way to a healthy life style is wrong! Im just expressing my feelings based on my own personal experience.

The book that Im currently reading is:
Intuitive Eating by Evelyn Tribole, MS, RD and Elyse Resch, MS, RD, FADA.

A very informative website:
www.intuitiveeating.com/

The 10 Principles of Intuitive Eating:

1. Reject the Diet Mentality
2. Honor Your Hunger
3. Make Peace with Food
4. Challenge the Food Police
5. Feel Your Fullness
6. Discover the Satisfaction Factor
7. Cope with Your Emotions without Using Food
8. Respect Your Body
9. Exercise-Feel the Difference
10 Honor Your Health-Gentle Nutrition

  • thankyou for this video, I am trying out intuitive eating right now :) your video is really good. I eat alot of satisfying food like nuts so i only get hungry like 3 times a day and i eat 3 decent sized meals, or 2 if i wake up late, so far im liking this :)

  • Good for you! I feel so liberated since practicing IE; it really has changed my life for the better.

  • I am right there with you antidnahS. Itoo did WW and I am tired of obsessing about food, calories, fat grams, etc. Emotional eating has always been my problem. I too have "broken up" with food and I am also intuitively eating. Best wishes too you, lets Live Life and stop giving so much value to food!

  • @justrightgyrl, I was constantly thinking about what I was going to eat next! I found myself collecting receipes that I never ever ever used. It was crazy, as long as it was a reduced calorie receipe I saved it, didn't matter if it was something I didn't like the taste of. LOL

  • Me too! I would think about my what I was going to eat for dinner while I was eating my lunch! As far as all those recipes, I boxed up all my "diet" cookbooks and donated them! It is time to let food go, it is is not "our everything" in this life.

  • LOL! I thought I was the only one that did that. I still have my cookbooks but I did get rid of all my WW pamphlets and anything else I had that related to losing weight in regards to food. I cant seem to let go of the cookbooks yet. LOL

  • Thanks Shelly, it was a long time coming. I was so militant when I did Weight Watchers that I set myself up and now it's time to fix this. 2010 is going to be a different year for me. I'm glad you are allowing yourself to eat whatever you want. By the way you are doing really great!

  • I love this video!! I am glad you have a good way to deal with food.

Even though I am intermittent fasting I eat what I want though most of the choices are healthy.

I agree..when you are to restrictive you go crazy and binge.

    Great topic..thanks for sharing!! ~Shelly~
