Evolutionist? I'm an Archaeologist!

I'm a little sick of morons from the creatard camp trying to put all of the scientific disciplines they're so desperate to refute under a single banner. It shows that they have no understanding of the disciplines they're talking about, even though they do all tend to corroborate each other, and that as a consequence Creationists routinely demonstrate they are utterly clueless about their pet peeve, EVOLUTION. The average creatard appears to think that by questioning a single point they stand a chance of demolishing the entire edifice of scientific knowledge that Humanity has struggled to build up over centuries, much of which was resisted by the various god botherers of the time. If Creatards are going to have a pop at academic, scientific and engineering disciplines could they at least do those of us who have bothered to actually get educated on the subjects they appear so intent on displaying mind numbing ignorance on the basic courtesy of getting the name of the subject right? If they can't get that right, why do they think we should listen to them? (This means you too NephilimFree. Obfuscation, propagandising and Orwellian Editing are not arguments. They're character flaws.)
Also, apologetics. What the fuck is that about? Why does their omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent god need a bunch of goatherders to write his/her/its thoughts down? That's a recipe for disaster. Surely if said deity created an entire universe from sub atomic particles to the largest galaxies in less than a week, said deity could magic their inerrant and inviolable words into a reasonable font, in a bound volume and in unambiguous language. Think of all that flooding said deity would have avoided (in fact did), turning people into pillars of salt, fire, brimstone (possibly treacle, the jury's out that one). Didn't see that coming did he/she/it? Maybe it's about time to call Apologetics what it is; making up excuses, or lying for those of us who are less diplomatic.

I'm an archaeologist who happens to accept the facts that my discipline and all of the other scientific disciplines have unearthed and checked against other facts. I accept the hypotheses that have been generated to explain these facts. Calling me or you an 'evolutionist' is laziness and lackof research on their part. Then again, what else do we expect ;-) ?

And I like the KerPlunk analogy. I loved that game. These creationists are merely science hobbyists. There's nothing inherently wrong with that IMO. I'm a science 'hobbyist' myself. However, whenever I learn about something that seems to fly in the face of (what I perceive as) conventional science my first inclination is that I'm ignorant of some thing(s), not that I've exposed some great lie.

Creationists are deliberately ignorant intellectual narcissists.

My problem with them is that they assume that they appear to think that dabbling in science or any subject allows then to stand on an equal footing with those who are professionals. That's why morons like NF think that his 'two whole years' of internet trolling on every subject he holds forth on qualifies him to pretend that people who devote their lives to science know less than him. @falchion49: of coz the creationists are not going to succeed in their little plan of overturning evolution with their patty "so-called-evidence" of disproof. However tho, I think we understand that the movement of creationist is mostly political(at least in the USA)... Therefore, I am not excluding the possibility of some powerful political force turning us all back to a bunch of medieval zealots.
