hi there,
my mum grows gourds (dark green with little white spots) in their garden in uk, only problem is they tend to get black spots when its just growing then die, do you have a tips for her?

I have a gourd tunnel too but mine is only 6 feet tall. I think I'll go taller next time. Good job.

Great video!! I found you on the BP website. I'm trying my luck with the long gourds this season. Man those giant pear gourds are pretty freakin' cool too, I'm gonna try and find some seed to those.
Anyway.... awesome vid, I wish there were more videos about these awesome giant veggies.

Hard to say for sure what could cause black spots. Might be some sort of mold. Growing in an area with lots of sun and very little moisture could possibly help. On the other hand, if it is some sort of plant virus or pathogen some sort of systemic fungicide may be needed. The only way to be sure is to send a sample of the diseased fruit to a plant pathologist.

Long gourds are ornamentals. They are not edible.
