In May 2012, NRCS and California Audubon partnered with four Central Valley farmers to take steps to protect on-farm, nesting Tricolored Blackbirds. This successful partnership by farmers and conservationists helped the rare Tricolored Blackbirds successfully fledge by combining a voluntary Farm Bill conservation program with technical expertise from California Audubon and NRCS.
