Johnny Reb was from the Southland
Where the cotton grows so tall
And at the age of seventeen
He heard his country's call.

He kissed his poor old mother,
He told his dad good bye.
He checked his trusty rifle
And he kept his powder dry.

Johnny Reb, Johnny Reb,
why did you have to go?
Johnny Reb, Johnny Reb,
Aw we miss you so!

They sent him off to Georgia
To join the boys in grey.
He fought his only battle
On a cold and rainy day.

He cocked his gun and wet his sights,
Then he looked around
And every Yank that showed himself,
He quickly brought him down.

Johnny Reb, Johnny Reb,
Why did you have to go?
Johnny Reb, Johnny Reb,
Aw we miss you so!

When the fighting stopped they found him,
He was barely alive.
But the Union troops that he brought down,
They counted forty-five.

They found him lying in a ditch
when he breathed his last goodbye,
"My heart for our old Southland boys and keep our flag hold high!"

Johnny Reb, Johnny Reb,
Why did you have to go?
Johnny Reb, Johnny Reb,
Aw we miss you so!

Johnny Reb, Johnny Reb,
Why did you have to go?
Johnny Reb, Johnny Reb,
Aw we miss you so!

  • The 3 who dislike this are probably dumb yanks

  • @TennesseeReb1862 Yeah and I wish they had fucking won.

  • ima make the south rise again!message me if u will fight and what position you want

  • @snowjacob It clearly states in the Articles of Secession that the preservation of slavery was the primary motivation for secession. You're bullshit excuses do not preclude well established historical fact friend.

  • @UserUK201 the south did not secede to perserve slavery they seceded to protect the states right to do what the state beleaves is good for the people of the state. only 2% of the south owned slaves the rest where us poor white farmers. many southern generals even said "we sould have freed the slaves and then fired on fort sumter" yes slavery was a big part in the south the president did not want his country to be known all around the world as a slavery country.

  • @snowjacob that seems to defeat the whole purpose of seceding to preserve slavery doesn't

  • @UserUK201 just to let you know General lee and president Davis had planed to free the slaves in the new confederacy when the war ended

  • @UserUK201 It wasn't really about race. The rich southern plantation owners wanted to spread slavery lincoln said no. That pissed the rich southern elite off. It was all about money just like most wars are. Capitalism at its finest. Rich mans war and as usual poor men fought and died in it.
