Connecting a Panasonic 3D HDTV (TX-P50VT20E) together with a PC equipped with an ATI Radeon HD 5970 video card using latest Catalyst 10.10c along with the newest iZ3D Driver over the HDMI interface for use with stereoscopic 3D content. Unfortunately the results were not that great - although the depth could be seenen, the annoying flashing of the image and artifacts appearing randomly totally ruin the experience. Apparently the TX-P50VT20E is not yet compatible with AMD's solution for 3D, although it works just fine with Nvidia's 3DTV Play...

Update: Solution found - disabling the Catalyst AI fixes the problem, however it also disables the second GPU limiting the performance!

  • I am able to use iz3d with an nvidia 9800GT to my 42" vizio 3d tv, i used the side by side format switched the tv to sbs 3d and was able to run world of warcraft and mw2 just fine

  • the 5970 card has a 1.3 hdmi connection isn't that an issue?

  • @NeoLusa HDMI 1.4 TV and cable are certified for the extra information and bandwidth being sent. You need at least a 120 hertz display because its sending double the singe to render two perspectives for depth perception. (120 cycles per second for each perspective/eye to get 60 Hz). There is a difference between fps and Vertical Frequency.

  • Can it be any TV 3d with hdmi 1.4?

DOes the tv need to be 120 hertz, cant be more? cant be less? and why?

  • It's a pity your camera wasn't HD as well.

  • I have same problem, but me have HD6990 and crossfire cannot be disabled :( Funny thing is that PowerDVD11 works, iZ3D and TriDef not...

  • If the hands are ok, and the brain too, then it works.

  • @artashes999 no, its free for this type of 3d but other types like side by side will only be 30 day trials, yes u will need a monitor or tv with 1.4a HDMI, and no u cant try it on ur monitor with a DVI connection. hope this helped :)

  • do you have to PAY for the iZ3D software?? and i will need a monitor or TV with an HDMI 1.4a right?? i can't try it first with my amd 6970 and my shitty 1440-900 monitor at 60hz, 8ms, and connected through DVI?

  • @klote2314 :D ik kan het in het nederlands zeggen, Nvidia werkt met shutter-glasses , sterioscopic is met duo-color perspectief, 2 gekleurde glazen filteren de duo kleuren op de monitor waardoor het 3D lijkt
