geography defines this never ending conflict, always has, always will...the current cycle of violence is simply one of many such cycles that are hardwired into the geography of Israel and Palestine and from which there is no escape. It is almost unnecessary to go through the political reasoning that has led each side to this point, except to explain why it is happening now instead of earlier or later. The politics simply determine the time and shape of conflict. Geography determines that the conflict is intractable.

  • How does the distance between West Bank and Gaza impact the viability of Gaza? They are seperated by a distance of about 30 miles. The mainland United States is separated from Hawaii by 5,000 miles and from Alaska by 2000 miles. There are many impediments to a succesful Palestinian state, the distance between Gaza and the West Bank is not one of them.

  • @mykelbe open a free trade between states is not the same as having to travel in enemy territory. Ask the azherbajhanis.

  • The map that you are talking about at 3:35 is of the land prior from 1949 to 1967. The original UN partition plan in 1947 would have given the Palestinians more land while dividing Israeli land. This land was lost at the end of the 1948-9 war when the surrounding countries did not accept the partition plan and invaded. Additionally one could argue that The Gaza Strip was being occupied by Egypt and that The West Bank was being occupied by Jordan at this time.

  • @costerluver thanks for the caridication, i stand by my conslusions.

  • there were never palestinian state there for their right for land cannot be excist, israel won jordan and egypt and in the peace agree with these countries they didnt want back the west bank and gaza strip ( as wrote in official information sources ) , the violence in the palestinian land ( gaza & west bank ) is similar to the life way in arab stated - bad economy, bad leader, terrify laws .

  • @TheKingdomFilms You're an idiot

  • We use costly means to ensure minimum civilian causulties, any other country bombs an intire block with cluster bombs if a small ditachment of militants would be on it, including the same countries that critisize Israel, who drew arms first? the arabs did, they employed former ss officers in their ranks, and acted barbarically, they never wanted peace, and their ambitions are unrealistic, thats why they get what they get.

  • It's not true, geography makes is not the issue, the thing is that Gaza is occupied by hammas and the west bank by the plo and Israel. MENTALITY?? Israeli mentality is of a westren state, palistinian is a dark age, brutal, cruel, and fanatic one.

Believe me jews have made enough conssesions, and we don't owe these people enything, they drag the response they get.

  • @TheKingdomFilms ah the antiquated argument that brute force supercedes realities on the ground. Are we living in the dark ages? Because if this were true, then south africa would still be divided, India would never have independence, Tibet has zero legitimacy, and the Shah's claim to Iran is illegitimate. We're living in the 21st century; it's time start thinking like it, too.

  • @krokom9 th person i was speaking to. that was not you
