August 19, 2008: '66 Ford Mustang FASTBACK GT comes out of the muffler shop w/stainless steel 2.5" MagnaFlow X-over dual exhaust installed. Next up will be wheels + tires.
@theARMONexchange - You'll definitely get better flow with some headers. I'd recommend getting a gas welder... you save a lot of money in labor costs. In the future, hopefully, I plan to make a side exhaust. If it's too loud, I can always switch back and forth.
@hivewax its actually in the muffler itself. i'm tempted to the the side exhaust, but im afraid it will make it too loud inside the interior of the car.
You can fix holes in the exhaust by just welding in new exhaust pipe; cut and fit... save some coin in these hard economic times. I recommend talking to your dad about it again.
@hivewax lol looks like im going with the x pipe. i'd do the welding myself but the old man won't let me get a welder haha. i heard the stock manifolds work best as either paper weights or boat anchor lol. one of the 5+ owners installed the current exhaust system which sounds like a pissed off tractor at idle, and the hole in it doesn't help. time for a new exhaust whoopie
@theARMONexchange - Yes... stock length 9" Moser housing and Detroit Locker TrueTrac differential w/3.50:1 gear ratio in a Strange alum center section. Original 8" had 3.00:1.
I'm currently doing some welding, body aligning, and rust removal.
I've read you get more HP from X-pipe. H-pipe gives you that classic sound.
@hivewax wow thats sweet. what did you replace the rear with? 9 inch? oh and thank you:D its actually looks better now that i repainted the block. i'm putting on headers and im thinking of putting on glass packs. still not sure if im going with an x or h pipe.

@theARMONexchange - Thanks.
It's a GT A-code. I upgraded the wheels, rear-end, and suspension since breaking the 8" pinion yoke. You should see the video of open headers!
I see you have a '66 with a nice clean engine bay!
