  • "Looks like he got his wages...the wages of sin is death." Amazing quote.

Also, loved the 28 Days Later music at the end.

  • @lexdiamonds1990 The government gave firearms to gangs? I find that very hard to believe. You seem to be making my argument for me. Cities in the US where there is strict gun control, like Chicago and Washington, D.C. have very high violent crime rates. The US cities where concealed carry is permitted have far lower crime rates, like Louisville and Denver. When armed criminals get free reign, chaos ensues. Let a few of them get shot by people who don't want to be victims, and things quiet down.

  • @bddc201 Thats not true on both counts (Haiti and Jamaica). In fact, in the case of Jamaica, it was the government giving firearms to gangs combined with the drug trade that led to rises in crime. Most crimes in Jamaica are either gang related or involve innocent persons caught in gang crossfire.

  • @lexdiamonds1990 It's the thugs who are armed, not the ordinary peaceful Hatians. Jamaica was a fairly peaceful, low crime island until they banned the private ownership of firearms in the 1960's. Armed citizens preventing crimes (especially violent crime) is well documented and easily provable. Criminals tend to avoid armed victims because of the very real possibility they could be killed or gravely wounded.

  • @bddc201 Im sorry, what I am claiming as untrue is the notion that armed citizenry would deter crime. Haiti is already heavily armed (it even exports illegal guns to Jamaica) and it hasnt deterred crime in the least. Rather, all it has done is contributed to instability by allowing ragtag groups of thugs to undermine law enforcement and the government itself.

  • @lexdiamonds1990 If I'm reading your comment correctly, you're contradicting yourself. What is it that you are claiming isn't true?

  • @bddc201 thats not true. Plenty of people in Haiti have guns, they may be illegal but who is going to arrest you?

  • this program fails to explore the gangs' activities. i was interested to know why and how they thrive and operate. the only thing mentioned was kidnapping..

stamp out the economic benefits of their criminal activity, or stamp out the activity outright. thats where the money should be going to.

e.g. if drugs were their main source of income, even consider legalizing it outright for the interim period and get the COMMUNITY to hold a monopoly.

  • bon travay mesye

  • interesting to see how the Japanese handle their devastation verses the Hatians.
