We have tried homegrown porcini and had a good basket-full last year, although nothing this year as it has been too dry.

I'm interested in trying out some other mushrooms, like the porcini. I wonder if they would grow here in our climate. Cold in winter, dry in summer. Thanks again for stopping by.

@jagwio Thanks.  Did you know that 28% of Americans admit to the fact that they don't know how to cook? So there is a need to cover the basics for a large segment of the population. However, things like this mushroom log get me excited. It's interesting, different and fascinating to watch. Awesome! My father and I drilled holes in many large logs and injected the holes with the shittake mushroom stuff. It's been a year and there hasn't been much, but we did get 3 this past week. They go great on homemade pizza.
