Austrian man pleads guilty to incestuous rape - 16 Mar 09

An Austrian man who's accused of imprisoning his daughter beneath his family home for more than two decades and fathering seven children with her has gone on trial.

There was tight security around the court in St Polten as Josef Fritzl appeared in the dock. He pleaded guilty to incest, but denied murdering a newborn baby boy.

He also pleaded not guilty to a charge of enslaving his daughter Elisabeth, who's now 42, for most of her life. A verdict is expected this week, and if he's found guilty he could face life in jail.

I'm reading the book 'Monster' about Josef Fritzl, it's very interesting. The beginning tells about his life as a young boy, how he was around when the Nazis were taking over Austria etc. So interesting, but I couldn't sleep at all the other night after reading about what actually went on in the cellar.
