@KLUNKET I just love him so much. I did not appreciate him at an earlier age. But as I get older I see his individual style that no one else can have. There is and always will be one George Jones. Thank God he got with Vestle Goodman & found God. Thank God he has left the alcohol and whatever behind him. I am too selfish to let him go from this world yet.

I think the cut Ol' Red was amazing. I would never have thought of cutting that song after hearing George cut it. George sings his own bass and then tenor and is a great demonstration of the Possum at his best!!!!

I LOVE this. I am going to be an assistant director for the musical "BIG RIVER" in the Spring of 2012, this song is sung by the character Mary Jane, it's beautiful when she does it, but it tears my heart to pieces to hear George sing it!

@JeriLynnKarr - that is what I love about George Jones... he lived through every kind of pain imaginable. I think that is why he is able to so flawlessly add all that emotion into his singing. No matter who you are, where you are, or what emotions you may be feeling, you KNOW when you listen to George Jones that HE KNOWS just how you feel!

For those unaware, this is actually the title track of George's final studio album for Epic Records in 1990. That album was severely under-rated and the label didn't promote any of the songs from it. Although this is a great song...the album's opening song, "Hell Stays Open All Night Long", is also wonderful.

@ACcountryFan - It is hard to pick any one Jones album as a top favorite, but I also thought his last Epic album was Jones at his best. It was an amazing album, and like you I was suprised at the lack of promotion. In fact, I had never even heard it was coming out, I just simply found it on the shelf one day. Although the album was beyond excellent, I saw Jones about that time, and he did a few songs from the album (including this one) & his live performances were even better than the album!
