http://www.theclaimsconnection.co.uk/reclaim-nhs-care-home-fees/could-you-rec... This short video explains more about reimbursement of Care and Nursing home fees in England & Wales.

Most people believe that when a person moves into a residential care home or nursing home that they or are fully responsible for the fees that are incurred. This is a very common misconception and the guidance offered by various healthcare organisations in the UK is not always as informative as it should be.

The reality is that the NHS may well have a responsibility to fully or partially fund the costs of continuing care in certain circumstances, specifically where a person has physical or mental healthcare needs.

Every person who requires long-term care because they are unwell, should be individually assessed for their specific healthcare requirements and not simply means tested for their ability to pay hugely expensive care home fees.

Therefore if you or a relative are in a nursing or care home because of a significant healthcare need, it may well be that the costs of your care should be funded by the NHS.

It is also possible that anyone who has been funding such care themselves may be entitled to reimbursement of all or part of the fees paid if they can show that there was a significant healthcare need that justified NHS support and contributions.

It is thought that more than 300,000 people in the UK are self funding their care home fees. A good proportion may in fact be entitled to support from the NHS.

If you or a loved one find yourself in this situation, why not contact the Claims Connection for an informal discussion about your case. Our No win No fee service enables you to explore a potential claim for fee reimbursement without incurring further unnecessary costs.

Call us today on 0800 0322210 and speak to us about your case. We would be happy to provide you or your family with a no obligation legal opinion on your claim.
