Look all you are doing is saying the same thing over and over. You can say as much as you like that Christmas is only a christian holiday, but the fact is in this day and age, for many people, not just myself, there is no religion involved in it. All we keep is the name, maybe one day we will get round to change that. At the moment it makes sense to just call it Christmas. And don't act like I'm not the only person who has a secular xmas, because LOADS of people do, whether you like it or not.

And everyone can see that Christmas is a Christian holiday... Just because YOU claim it's not... that doesn't change the fact that it is. It's the celebration of the birth of Christ. That's a fact. You can't change that just because you want to call it a dinosaur. It doesn't change a thing.

@dadeskr also the whole reason for christmas being on the 25th of December is so that it happened close to the celebration of the winter solstice and they could therefore envelope this celebration as their own and try to get rid of paganism.

The word Christmas isn't useless as people know what it means. If you ask someone if they are doing xmas it means are you doing anything on the 25th, religious or not (whether or not you like it Hannukah is a specific celebration, xmas isn't, not anymore). That doesn't mean to say that you can't have a religious aspect, just that it isn't necessary. Maybe you are upset that the non believers are stealing your word? Because it's not like christians have never done that, cough... easter... cough..

With Christmas many many people use it to simply mean the festivities that happen on the 25th of December, I'm sorry if you don't like it but it is a fact and you are fighting a loosing battle if you thing the word 'christmas' should only be reserved for a religious ceremony because it obviously isn't.
