No... If I celebrated a Muslim holiday in a non-muslim way... I would be mocking their religion. And I would be in the wrong. I respect Islam and every major religion on this planet. I wouldn't disrespect them by trashing on their culture and traditions. The same way that you mock Christians by taking part in their culture and holidays.

@dadeskr if you went as a non muslim to a muslim holiday that would be more odd than retarded, it is not as socially acceptable, at least it seems that way, for non believers to partake in and remove the faith aspect from originally muslim holidays than it is for us to do the same to originally christian holidays, which we have.

If you celebrate an originally muslim holiday but as a non muslim (ie you leave out the islamic aspect of the holiday) then what you are celebrating is not a muslim holiday. This is exactly what has happened to Christmas, it is a religious ceremony for some and secular for others. At the moment only muslims celebrate muslim holidays but that doesn't mean in the future they wont be secularised as well for some people.

if you think the arguments are at all similar then you are deluded.You may think a secular christmas is nonsensical but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist, you can complain all you like, it makes no difference. It's funny how upset it makes you. You celebrate religiously, I'll celebrate non religiously and we'll both have a bit of joy and hope in our lives and the lives of friends and family during the long winter days because really THAT is what Christmas or any winter festivities are about.

@dex1391 it is irrelevent because only YOU are calling the tree a dinosaur. You know it's a tree so you are just saying it isn't for arguments sake. And a tree and a dinosaur are very different things. On the other hand a Christian and non Christian christmas are pretty similar the only difference really is the religion or lack of, which even in christian Christmas tends only to play a minor role. Also LOADS of people have secular xmas rather than just you with the tree.
